My Journal

Welcome to the site all about me... well basically about my experiences in Japan.  But for now, I still have about a month left before I head off to Ishinomaki in Miyagi-ken (just 3 hours north of Tokyo on the east coast).

Check back for updates on my work, travels and well everything.  Feel free to explore my site, all are welcome.

I'm looking forward to what lies ahead... what I can learn about Japan and myself.  If you ever miss me just come back to find out what I've been doing and send me a message.

Month 4: I think I've finally passed the ups and downs of living abroad... came to terms with why I'm here and am very happy that I decided to come to Japan.  This year is absolutely one of the most exciting and rewarding times of my 20s.  Especially being post-college having to support myself and having many opportunities to travel is awesome.  Make sure you check out my journal and photos... I'll try to update my journal more.

Month 6: Okay time reallly does fly by when you're having fun!  And it is official, I've signed the papers and will be coming home at the end of my contract (July 31st, 2006).  The date of my return is to be determined.  I think I might travel a little before I head back to the states.

Month 8: A new school year is approaching and I am excited to start fresh.  When I arrived it was the middle of the school year, so I felt that I had to go with what the ALT before me started.  Now I get to be the one more in charge of the situation.  I'll be teaching with some new teachers and all new students.  Just four more months to go and I will definitely make the most of it!

Month 10: And the countdown begins... 8 weeks left!  I've made lists of all the things I must do before I leave and all the preparations to move back.  I am really going to miss my JET friends who are all staying a 2nd year, my students and co-workers.  In the end of it all, I am content with how the year turned out.  I especially have high hopes for my students.  This school year they are more excited to learn English and actual practice oral communication.  I'm sad to leave so soon, but happy to be going home. (tentative date to arrive in SF: Aug. 18)

Month 12: It's so hard to say goodbye... tears fill my eyes as I leave the place that has been so good to me this past year.  I will always remember the people, the experiences, the places, the culture and hopefully the language.  I will carry the memories with me forever and until we meet again!

My Calendar

Look and see where I'll be heading to, when I'm going and what I plan on doing.  I'll be perodically updating my travel plans and what adventures I went on that day.
